How do I prevent the character from being thrown away when I jump under the corners?

My guess is that it is simply caused by deflecting off of the rounded shape of the character’s collision capsule. In old 2D platformers the collision area was usually a rectangle. I’m not sure how to swap out the capsule for a box though
