Note, it’s the launcher that’s broken. If I launch Unreal Engine through locating the .exe file on my hard drive, it works fine.

Same problem here too, worked fine the other day now it’s broken :frowning:

Problem fixed!
Right-click on your Epic Games launcher desktop shortcut Select “Properties” In the line labeled “Target,” add the following to the very end (after the quotation mark): -SkipBuildPatchPrereq It should look something like this: “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe” -SkipBuildPatchPrereq
Click “Apply” Double click the shortcut to run the launcher and try again and make sure to add the space between the quotation and dash

This is useful for now, but for me also skips the whole interface where I can choose to play Paragon / Update the engine / download tutorials etc. Will hopefully be able to get rid of this when 4.20.4 comes out.

Even easier way to get rid of this error: As Allegro already mentioned, it’s an error within the Epic Games launcher. So, just have the launcher creating an desktop shortcut when installing the engine. While starting the engine using this shortcut, no errors occur, no matter if the launcher is started or not. Worked out for me, at least.
