UE4.20 project always crash upon startup

Hello,

My project that was made with UE4.20 refuses to load and always crash when loading it (at either mark 45% or 71%, maybe it’s random). This is most likely due to sudden power outage when I’m working on the project, renders most of the assets corrupted.

When I open the project again, at first the engine behaves abnormal, for instance, the camera refuses to attach itself to spring arm, despite the camera is ordered as child of the spring arm. This does not happen on other project files or a blank third person project. After a while, the engine crashes.

Since then, the engine straight up crashes when loading the project. The logs spitted on every crash seemingly have random endings.

I tried to migrate important assets to a blank project, but upon opening the project, the same abnormal behavior happens and rendering the new project unloadable again.

Is there any way to repair the project? Or if not, how do I recover the asset without recreating them from scratch?

I would try creating a new project and then copying assets to it one by one, compiling and testing it first and then saving it if it didnt break the project. When you reach an asset that is corrupted you can load back the last working version and you will have to recreate that asset but not the good ones.
