Unable to start a project

Hello,

I just downloaded mac binary and installed latest version through launcher (4.3). Whenever I open editor and create a new project, it generates all project files but after that nothing happens and editor icon just sits in dock. No error or nothing. I looked into documents/Unreal Projects/MyProject folder but there are no error log files so I can’t pinpoint problem of what’s happening in background.
Running on OS X 10.9.2

*Also - I checked task manager and editor runs in background. Problem is that it doesn’t appear on screen.

Any help appreciated!!

Update: - created a new user on my mac and tried to launch editor from it. Everything launched fine and was able to build and run a project. problem is that I can’t launch it on my user profile. Both of them have administrator privileges.

Any ideas?

Update 2: managed to debug - when creating a project it wasn’t creating a splash folder. When i copy pasted a splash folder in to project folder it was able to launch. How to make it so it automatically creates folder?!

Hey OneMethod,

Sorry for delay in response. Just wanted to let you know that I am looking into issue and will let you know when I have some information for you.

Sorry for delay, I thought I had responded last week but am just noticing that my answer isn’t here. Not sure what happened there…

Anyway, logs won’t be in documents folder, so you should be able to get them for us. You can find them here: /Users/UserName/Library/Logs/Unreal Engine/ProjectNameEditor/

Try this again, and get us latest log file after issue occurs. You may want to try updating to 4.3.1 or 4.4, just in case this is an old bug from 4.3.

Thanks!

Hey OneMethod,
