Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

I'd recommend using Unreal Studio - Datasmith integration will save you a lot of headaches between CAD and UE.

If that is out of the question for some reason, my pre-Unreal Studio method was to first load the .dwg in 3dsMax so I can clean up, weld, and adjust all the verts, faces, edges, and objects to what the engine expects - the way that CAD exports 3D geometry does not play well with an engine that expects neat tris. While there I also create neat UVs for all my dwg objects... You can probably automate this last step but manual work always gives best results - especially for the large lightmap resolutions you'll need once in UE.

Cheers.
