Crash replacing foliage mesh instances from Scene Outliner

Maybe I ain’t supposed to even try doing it, but I selected a mesh in the content browser to replace the ones painted in the level with the Foliage tool and in the Scene Outliner RMB’d to choose Replace with StaticMesh … and it gives a repeatable fatal error.

Just after … I’m trying to make another foliage using a mesh with its material set to an Engine material (Widget_Z) and it causes a permissions warning pop up
Is it related to the above question?

Using a non-engine material+texture doesn’t make a difference to the crash.

Great find! I have reproduced and reported the crash.

If still curious, the properly intended way to swap out the mesh is by clicking the little arrow, which you can see at the top right of your second screenshot.

Regarding your second issue, I have not yet been able to get that to reproduce. I experienced no problem applying WidgetMaterial_Z to a StaticMesh and using that with the Foliage tool. Let me know if you find any simple reproducable steps.
