Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Crash replacing foliage mesh instances from Scene Outliner

alt text Maybe I ain't supposed to even try doing it, but I selected a mesh in the content browser to replace the ones painted in the level with the Foliage tool and in the Scene Outliner RMB'd to choose Replace with StaticMesh ... and it gives a repeatable fatal error.

Using a non-engine material+texture doesn't make a difference to the crash.

Hi Tom,

Great find! I have reproduced and reported the crash.

If still curious, the properly intended way to swap out the mesh is by clicking the little arrow, which you can see at the top right of your second screenshot.

Regarding your second issue, I have not yet been able to get that to reproduce. I experienced no problem applying WidgetMaterial_Z to a StaticMesh and using that with the Foliage tool. Let me know if you find any simple reproducable steps.

Thanks,
