Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Material doesn´t apply to imported Datasmith Mesh

Hello together,

I´ve recently imported a model of a pillar from Sketchup 2018 via Datasmith Exporter and imported it in UE 4.20.3. When I applied any kind of material it only shows the standard grey square texture as if no material would have been applied. It does not matter which Material. I tried standard ones from UE and some HQ materials from Megascans. No difference. I also tried chosing the single geometry from the content browser and appliing the material via the material slot. No difference. With standard boxes I did not have the problem in 4.20, but in 4.16 the problem also appeared, that i could not texture some of the standard boxes. I tried reimporting the meshes and importing them with and without materials from sketchup. But i really don´t know what i could have missed.

Sorry if anyone also posted this problem, but after two days of searching the answer hub from UE i only found problems with slightly different topics and none of them worked for me.

Hope anyone could help.
