Is Datasmith import of skeletalmesh from 3ds Max possible?

I am working on a vehicle model in 3ds max 2019 rigged for movement. When I use datasmith to export and then import into ue4 I have the root bone as an actor but the model no longer has a skeleton attached. If some one could help me thanks If not possible yet Ill just have to go back to fbx import
