Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Glowing Mesh / Material Imported With Datasmith

Hi guys,

I have some meshes / materials imported with Datasmith and they are glowing after lighting build. This is with medium. But they still glow on PROD and also with changing Level Lighting Scale or Sky Light Bounces etc. They never change.

Does someone know what this is about? What can I do?

Are you sure there are no lights there? You can even see the direction of the light(s) inside the box!! ...or emissive material? I know you've posted the setting but...

Hi Makigirl, there are no lights and also no emmisive materials inside the box. I really can't figure out what is causing those "lights" or "light leaks"

Have you tried to move the box to a different position? Just to see if the light goes with it... also assigning different material to it... Any extra settings as gi boost for this object?

I have assigned different material, which actually looks the same inside the material editor like the old one. And I have created a new UV-Map channel in UE4. Now it works. The lights were also moving with the box. Somehow this happens with objects created in 3dsmax and imported with datasmith into ue4. They get imported with some pretty weird UV-Map. Thank you very much for your help!
