Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Office Holiday

Epic Games' offices will be on holiday from June 22nd to July 7th. During this period support will be limited. Our offices will reopen on Monday, July 8th. 

Crash when trying to join local game.

Yesterday for the first time I downloaded the source of the engine from github and built it. It ran fine and everything seemed perfect. I converted my game project to that custom build and then opened the editor and again, everything was fine. However, whenever I make a package and then try to run it I get problems. The specific problem is:

I can run a server just like before, this works fine. I CANT get a client to join. As soon as I type 'open' the game hangs and I get the following error message:

Ok so I noticed this happens any time I tried to load another map. ( open mapname' will crash each time.

Hey, Osman. Whenever I use 'open [mapname]', I don't seem to have any crash. What version of the engine are you running?

Hey Johnathan, thanks for the reply. I have figured out that this is caused by UMG. It seems that it does not destroy the old widgets when opening a new map ( or something like this ). I made a new bug report on that, but I probably should have combined this one and that one, apologies. Here is the other bug report.
