How can I see dithered LOD transition?

I upgraded to 4.21 last night. In it is supposed to be dithered LOD transitions support for mobile. Currently my project is running with support for ES2, and ES3.1. I’ve toggled dithered lod transitions in the project settings mobile section which is was is recently introduced. The material I’ve testing with is an unlit, masked, with dithered LOD transitions toggled on. What else is there? When I run around and see my environment LODing between the various LODs I cannot see any dithering going on.

I’m testing this in the editor ES2 mobile preview, and on the Oculus Go.
