Syncing UT Project on Github

Hi,

I recently downloaded the Unreal Tournament project from Github and just synced for the first time. My question is, does this automatically update the files on my computer so the next time I open the project in UE4 it’ll be updated? I wouldn’t imagine so, so if not how do I do this?

Hi ,

At this time there is not a function for UT to auto-update. You would need to watch for UT update announcements and then go to GitHub to get the latest version. Sorry for any inconvenience. The source is available, so if anyone wanted to implement a system for updates it would be feasible, but our staff is currently concentrating on game design and networked play. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to further assist.

Thanks for the response! Ok so the only question I really have now is, what is that sync button for? Just to see if stuff has been updated?

That will sync up your GitHub repository with your local client’s repository. It is not involved with updating your files, just sending them to github.

Ok thanks for the clarification!
