Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

SessionName with console /open

Hi,

I'm having issues using the session interface in conjunction with the console /open MapName?listen or /open ip.address.goes.here

When I do so the engine hosts/connects perfectly fine and seems to work, but all my other session related code in the GameInstance fails because it can't find the named session ("GameSession"). I've double-checked that it is indeed calling the session this name by logging it on the session's HandleMatchHasStarted

Any sessions I create through cpp work totally fine. This is all using the default onlinesubsystem, I have not tested with Steam etc.

Is there something I'm missing? Anyone think of a good angle to figure this out?

Can you post what this "session related code" is in your GameInstance? My one thought is that the console command code is asynchronous and the GameInstance code might be getting executed before it is done. When you do the same session creation processes in your own code you can listen for callbacks to ensure it is complete before moving on. Without seeing any code though it is only a hunch.
