[Help]Trouble with player camera

Hello !

I am working on a player camera quite simple (I think ?). Here’s the idea:

1.The player look in front of him, camera is just behind (pictures of camera settings below the explications)

2.The player look a little bit up so the camera follow

3.The player look totally up, the camera is approximately under the arm

(Blue thing is the camera, red line is spring arm and yellow arrow is the way the player looking)

The best exemple I can give you is the Fortnite camera type (And maybe the camera type of Gears of War but I’m not sure). Here’s what I have with my current camera (which is not what I want)

1.Camera looking front

2.Camera looking down

3.Camera looking up

The problem is that when we looking down, the camera go forward the player, and when we look up the camera go above the player

Here is the settings. I don’t know what to say more. If you have any question feel free to ask

Camera is not exacly on springArm but has some offset. In camera component set Location to 0,0,0 and instead of changing location of camera to change view position, change location of SpringArm because camera is always following springarm.

Also if you want to set camera closer to or farther from character, instead of moving Camera or SpringArm, change “Target arm length” in SpringArm

Is that this that I have to set instead of the location of the camera ?

When I look up/down the camera still does this (1) and when I look around (2) the camera change and go away from the player and turn around him (I try with and without Pawn rotation on the spring arm). I don’t know where the problem can be

Nice, it works just perfect, thank you so much for the help !

No, you need to change values in Transform panel. To increase height of camera, increase the Z value
