Landscape layer blend weightmap - video ram usage

Ram usage goes through the roof a UE4 crashes when I try to import weight maps onto my fairly big landscape (8129x8129 res, 127x127 quads, I can’t make it lower res because of sculpting). I successfully imported two of them but can’t import more. Is there a way to import weight maps in lower resolution than landscape, and would it help? Every time I try to import them, my hardware usage goes to 100% of 32gb of ram and 100% of 8gb video ram on my GTX 1070.

well i fixed it by making my virtuyal ram pagefile 52gb (i have 12gb of ram) and msi afterburner to get max out of my gpu (1050ti 4gb) and only then was i able to do it without crashing got 255 quad 8192 landscape with highly complex landscape material.

Thanks! I will keep it in mind for my further experiments. In that case, I split Landscape into 3 pieces with lower res. It doesn’t came up very nice because it was a landscape inside another landscape with a hole (made by removing quads) and another one with those two inside. I was only interested in one mountain in the middle, the rest was just as the view from the mountain’s peak.
