How to keep momentum in third person template

I am trying to keep my momentum in the third person template. For example, if you want to turn around mid-jump you will keep your energy and keep moving at the same speed in the direction you are pointing. how could I change this in the third person template?

I won’t claim to be an expert in this area… but a couple of quick/easy options might work:

  1. … enable and tweak Air Control on your Character Movement Component (I think you need to be Jumping mode… but maybe Falling mode is OK too)

2)… switch your Character Movement Component mode to Flying… and enable/disable gravity as you need to

Maybe you can get Current Velocity, and set this value to be the new velocity, but in the Forward Vector direction. And you will have to do that on Tick. But I’ve never tried anything like this, so I don’t know if that will work as you want.
