Blueprints control Matinee Camera

Currently the blueprint setup I have accurately gets the location of the matinee camera and displays the distance to a target, adjusting according to the distance of the camera (like the Content HUD Example with the health pickup).

This functionality works fine when tested in the viewport - the matinee scene starts at the beginning, completes and all the while shows the distance to the target. However if I launch a standalone game or matinee movie, it simply doesn’t even start. Is there a reason for this?
