Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"

Editor freezes then outputs a bunch of errors.

My editor often freezes for 1-2min when I right click, I already made many fresh installs of different versions. I've been using source build of version 4.20, 4.21 release branch. this it the output log after i gain controll back.

My 4.20 project is also suffering from the same bug, and everytime i restart the engine it will lock the UI for about a minute before continue operating (with a significant 1-2GB of increase in memory use i must add!)

For me the StackWalkAndDump() takes usually 30-60 seconds running source built ue4 from a HDD. I think the 130+ seconds wait time you are suffering is becuase of bad fragmentation of your HDD. You can improve on this issue by either relocating your engine to an SSD or use good defragment software that takes care of file access times.

If you believe the ensure that you are encountering is incorrect, please provide some more information about how your affected Blueprint is set up and we can take a closer look at that.

There are multiple reports of similar issue, the oldest i found was dates back to UE 4.13.

At this point i'd be satisfied with a solution that effectively disable StackWalkAndDump on similar cases. or at least reducing the stack length to a short portion that doesnt require the stack walk to go this very deep while analising the stack. This is why it takes super long.

thank for the potential fix! I have updated to 4.22 and since have not gotten that issue anymore.
