Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Cannot export the active 3D view in Revit to Unreal using Datasmith?

Hello, I receive the following error while attempting to use the Datasmith Add-in and export to Unreal.

I haven't had this issue with any other Revit models. Has anyone else run into this issue? I'm hoping to resolve this as I continue to compare my settings to previous Revit projects.

I've attached my 3D View Settings from Revit. From what I can tell everything is the same as the last working project.

Hi April.

This is a known issue visible here: https://issues.unrealengine.com/issue/UE-66985 and that should be fixed in one of our recent Datasmith hotfixes.

Please make sure to update to the latest Datasmith version for the UE 4.21 release. This includes updating both the Datasmith importer plugin in UE4 (via the Epic Games launcher), and the Datasmith exporter plugin in Revit (available here: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/studio/downloads)

I hope this helps.

For all future Unreal Studio/Datasmith issues or questions, please be sure to log your issue to our dedicated Unreal Studio support site - https://unrealstudiohelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page

Thank you.

I had the error a week ago. I had no idea a new release came out and fixed the issue. Thank you!
