UE4 huge logfiles & crash after using Houdini Engine
I'm using Houdini Engine 17.0.425.
I don't know whether this is an UE4 problem, a Houdini Engine bug or an user caused issue. Attached you will find an excerpt of a 1.5 GB big UE4 logfile. This is what happened:
From my interpretation this is what happened: the Houdini Engine tried to locate files that were already deleted (from disk). Even though the references to these files and the maps were also deleted. This caused an infinite loop that just a P4 clean could resolve. However I have no idea what caused the corrupted maps and why assets that were always working well suddenly caused UE4 crashes.
Once during working with an asset and a second time after I managed to open UE4 after some attempts it was no longer finding a Houdini installation. It just stopped detecting the installation.
Please have a look at the log file. We would really like to know what’s going on there. How can we prevent this from happening?
