Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Office Holiday

Epic Games' offices will be on holiday from June 22nd to July 7th. During this period support will be limited. Our offices will reopen on Monday, July 8th. 

Why does changing Shared Derived Data Cache Location cause UE to crash?

Like most people having issues with expanded amounts of wait time for a project to save, I decided to look into the issue. According to online threads, it seemed as though the Derived Data Cache was the issue. So I proceeded to go into "Editor Preferences/Global" and change the Local and Shared Data Cache locations. By accident I also "Set as Default". After doing so, I can no longer access any of my projects through UE 4.20. I open the projects and as soon as I start loading the level map, Unreal Crashes. I've read thread after thread and looked up every possible solution. I have even uninstalled 4.20 and reinstalled it. I even made copies and opened in a newer version of unreal. Nothing changes. Is there any possible way to recover my projects and get everything back to normal?
