Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Black Pixelated Noise Problem

Hi! I'm fairly new to Unreal Engine and have hit a roadblock. I have spent hours surfing the internet and fiddling with settings but I can't find a solution, so I decided to ask on here. The scene is filled with this flickering black pixelated noise (I don't know how else do describe it). Here is a youtube link showing the issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quZ6IM5N35U I suspect the problem is with the lighting but I have no idea what to do to fix it.

Notes: I'm on a fairly powerful mac. I have tried many times to rebuild the lighting. The process seems to complete but the issue persists.

Knowing me, this is an obvious setting I have overlooked. Thanks in advance for your time.

So I updated my engine to 4.21 and it fixed the problem! Thanks for the help! I have no idea what was happening but I guess all's well that ends well!

Hi!

To me it looks like Z fighting! Are you sure there are no duplicated objects/faces where it happens?

HI! Thanks for the reply! I tried to test this by creating a new level and adding a default mesh or two but the noise is still there. It seemed to only happen when I added some of the default textures. Some of the default textures didn't seem to have the same effect though. Could this be a uv mapping issue? Thanks for the idea though. I'll keep doing research into Z fighting to see if I'm missing something.
