Can't download Unreal studio onto mac os Majave

This is the message I get:
There is no application set to open the document “EpicInstaller-7.16.0-enterprise-22aac349ef6141adb0f35acbf5b1055a.msi”.
Search the App Store for an application that can open this document, or choose an existing application on your computer.
I tried to install the mac version for the game devellopers and it worked

Is the other version for enterprise only available for windows?
Please advice or direct me to another download link that works.
Thank you

Hello.

Both the Epic Games Launcher and the Unreal Engine 4 are available and supported on Mac.

However, Unreal Studio (which is primarily the Datasmith plugin added to the Unreal Engine) is not currently supported on Mac. We have a development goal to support Mac later this year.

While you are currently unable to use the Datasmith plugin on Mac, you are still able to begin working with the Unreal Engine, and you can download the launcher from here.

Cheers

Thank you Stephen
Do you mean I should download the version for Game developers?
I have downloaded this version before but I could not seem to access unreal studio from there.
Or can I access it from there.

If you mean I should follow your link and download the version for enterprise.
The same notice as before comes up. I can’t download it.

I am new to this. i assume unreal engine for game developers it quiet different to unreal studio.
I would like to use it for interior design.

What do you recommend.
Thank you

In reality there is only one version of the Unreal Engine 4, and it is used for game design, Arch-viz, film, product design, and more.

Unreal Studio is an offer, but not a specific software itself. The Unreal Studio offer includes the Unreal Engine, plus the Datasmith plugin, and a few extra bonuses like starter template projects.

You can use the Unreal Engine on Mac, and accomplish a lot with it. Unfortunately, you will not be able (yet) to use the additional features of Unreal Studio, such as the Datasmith plugin. Datasmith streamlines the asset import process, but you can fall back to the traditional import processes for the engine instead (via FBX).

As for getting the installer for the Launcher, you’ve pointed out a workflow that we should improve. From the Download page that I linked you to, choose the ‘Game Developers’ tab instead, and this will allow you to get the launcher installer for Mac. The launcher will then let you download the engine.

Again, it’s the same engine for all user types. At this time, you will only be missing out on the Datasmith plugin.

Thank you Stephen for explaining this to me.
I downloaded the Epic Game developer now and have launched unreal engine.
The epic game developer is the only application that I could download.
I can not download unreal engine, it does not appear in my applications.
It only launches as unreal editor and I have to launch it every time form epic game developer.
Is that how it is supposed to be? Please advice if I need to do anything else to download unreal engine.
Thank you
Felicitas

The Unreal Editor is what you want. The Editor is the interface that works with the Unreal Engine.

You are ready to develop, and at this point I suggest you review documentation and training videos. Your first goal should be to become more comfortable with the editor interface.
