Change Skeleton Asset of Skeletal Mesh

Hello,

is it possible to change the skeleton asset of an existing Skeletak Mesh.

For Example, with the 15 Mixamo Character from the market place, can I change those to all use the same skeleton, so that they will share the same Animation Blueprint?

Hmm, with this I have "missing bone"s - and don’t see an obvious way to assign them (as can be done with the animation retargetting)

My life is saved by him too. Awesome!

And lo he saved us all

I also have been saved by him.

Hail, a saviour.

What about rigging?

If the skeleton isn’t the same, then you need to use retargetting. You can only Asign Skeleton for assets using the identical skeleton. This is a fast way to get a marketplace character to work with your animBP. If only there was a way to Bulk Edit the skeleton. I can see it in the bulk edit options, but it’s grayed out so I can’t change it :frowning:

You need to click on the display tab instead of the property tab.
I saw your comment here, and thought I’d show you, so here’s a video I recorded for you. I was being too lazy to type the steps

Thanks for posting. Sadly this feature doesn’t exist in UE4. I should have specified. Good to know it’s there when I switch to 5 though

And for 4.27

Oh, nice. The current project I’m working on is 4.25 because one of the plug-ins I use doesn’t go higher. Good to know though. Thank you

Oh I see. What plugin is that? If you don’t mind me asking.

Not at all… EpicLeaderboard.com

Ok… I felt a bit bad that you’re stuck with 4.25 because of a plugin that isn’t updated…
So I did some digging, and found that a youtuber has made it work for 4.26, I grabbed his code, did a few changes, mostly engine version and some naming stuff, and then it built successfully for 5.0.3.

Check the description in my video here, where I show it works in 5.0.3
