Feature Request: Manipulate Sequencer Range Slider using Mouse Scroll Wheel

I see that there is a handy pair of hotkeys to push the Range Slider range in and out using keypresses. I also know if you double click on a section it will expand the time range to fill the timeline with that section.

BUT WHAT IF:

You are wiz-bang throwing keys and sections around on the timeline, and you HOLD A KEY and SCROLL, and instead of the current behavior which vertically scrolls the tracks up/down, by HOLDING A KEY, the range slider ZOOMS IN AND OUT all nice and smooth.

Not only that, but the locus of said ZOOM operation is CENTERED around the CURRENT MOUSE POSITION if it is hovered somewhere in the timeline.

THAT would be really cool and make it really fast for me to fly around the timeline in TIME (AND SPACE??).

Thanks I am using this tool in honest to god production and its good!! This feature request comes after using your tool across many tests and experiments over the last few major revisions, and now my team using the tool full time in a production for 100+ of hours. Cheers.

Found out the answer!!

Ctrl + scroll wheel actually does what I was asking for already, it “zooms” in and out of the timeline.
Shift + scroll wheel as a bonus translates the timeline left and right.

Nice job everyone.

Also, you can change where you want it to zoom (either centered on current time or the current mouse position) through preferences:

Cheers thanks for the tip Max! I was using an obnoxious ergo keyboard so trying ctrl and scroll wasn’t as obvious as it should have been :stuck_out_tongue:
