Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Have a question about LevelStreaming & LargeLandscapes

Hello everybody.

first i need to say sorry for my englisch. Its not perfect but i think and hope its enough to understand my problem and get some help here :)

So, i have use the WorldCreator to make a good large landscape map. I import it to my UE4 and set some materials on it. Now I ask myself the question how it is better to continue with build the citys / forests / Rocks / Trees and everything i need for a nice OpenWorld game.

I am in Learning progress so for me is this the best way =) I want a Big Landscape and when i need to try something i take my TestProject wich is much smaller :)

I hear about Streaming and optimizing large landscape maps.

Is it possible to keep my big map and just start designing and building? so I can put my forests on it, grass, buildings, roads and everything i need so and in the end I would like to slice the whole project which is on a single large map into many small sections which will be loaded one after the other when I am nearby when playing.'

Is tihis posible ?

How developers like they from "Scum" make this Large map with different little citys on it ?

I would like to design something similar and have the world creator with which I can add a large heightmap beautiful landscapes in the unrealengine. Can i design the whole thing and slice it after my work into many slices to safe performance and make it load section after section `?

I hope everyone can help me here.
