no engine installed
I just tried to upgrade from ue4.3 to ue4.4.
When running the installer, it first deleted the old version of the engine, then tried to install the new one. After it installed directX, the installer closes, and starts the launcher. Thats where I see a "no engine installed" instead of the usual "launch 4.3" button.
The only thing I did was run the installer...and i tried to re-download the installer, and run it a few times. I have not changed any hardware or software settings. Doing a google search, I see if there is an issue with using proxy, the installer quits. However, I am not using a proxy, and I was able to download and install the previous version without problems.

I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding you. But the installer will install the Launcher and from there you should use the Launcher to download the Editor. This can be done from the Library section of the Launcher.

You have to go to Library > Engine Versions and click + Add Versions
