UE4 Maya art tool animations exporting wrong

This question is for those who use the Epic Art Plugin for Maya. I have an animation that takes 18 frames, a basic run cycle, however when I export the animation setting the frame range from 0-18 it stops short of completing when played. after playing with some settings I was able to figure out it was extending the animation stretching it to 22 seconds instead of the intended 18. If anyone can explain why this is happening or how to fix it it’d be greatly appreciated, thank you
