As an architecture firm, eager to use Unreal for ArchViz, we chose the WMR platform for a number of reasons. One in particular was the ease with which novice VR users (most of our clients) could pick up the controllers and navigate around an environment. The thumbstick forward bump teleportation, and side bump turning is very intuitive and allows the viewer to concentrate on the environment and not be frustrated by awkward navigation controls. Currently in Unreal the user must master a simultaneous thumbstick press down, press foreword, and press side to direct a teleport. Not easy for the casual user. We have been unable to find any documentation on how to remap the controls in Unreal. While we are busy porting our projects to Unreal and very pleased with the results, this controller issue is a big stumbling block to creating great presentations. Attention to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
