World comp issues

Working with just terrain nothing else, I’m getting weird distortions if that’s the word, one of my terrain tiles, as seen in world comp view, see below:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvVOuPY0RaB5hekHg8nEAC5IQTHMgA

As seen on left one tile is very large and I did not create it that way as all tiles are precisely the same size or this wouldn’t work, ( although in play, depending where I am in world, large sections of playable world are invisible depending where I go in world ( likely streamed out ?), yet on the right, #3 is almost twice the size of the othes ( as on left side ) - what would have occurred to allow this,is this a bug or a wonkie value I have ( or none) I have for streaming ?

thx anyone

I just removed it, added another one. I’d stil like to know what caused it, bc its a nasty bug, clearly I did not create 3 the same size, andone twice the size as ‘tiles’ dont work that way, obviously.

Waiting for answers, bc I need to know, if its something I may have done, I need to avoid it in the future.

I occasionally have this issue with world comp - it usually just means you have actors or foliage that are part of that tile but far away enough to skew the original bounds.

To avoid this, be sure to work within the right tile while working with world comp (in world comp, right click the tile you want to set dress and select make current to have things load and unload with it).

If you aren’t careful, stuff that you think is fine in-game will unload in unexpected ways (say you have a cactus meant for a desert but it’s technically placed in a distant forest tile by accident. The stray cactus will disappear when that distant forest chunk unloads since it was in the wrong chunk to begin with).

If you need to move over actors that are improperly placed, you can select them and right-click the destination tile - there should be an option for “move selected actors to level”. This moves them to the right tile.

I hope this makes sense!

HI there, thx so much but I’m very confused, wc’s fault not mine (ha)
So , even though the tiles are seamlessly joined I must always have the same tile clicked as current ?
I"ve not always done that, prob. why thing are wrong, and I still don’t get why one would ever choose a different tile( tho I did !) as current,I just have the persistent , and tiles,I clearly missed a doc o_0\so how do I know what mesh(s) to move ?

WC seems it could be better designed, or I"ve not fully engaged
( I do know they aren’t working on it anymore allegedly

thx!

So, how do I know which is the right tile, not to mention how do I know which actors are improperly placed? They all are where they are suppossed to be, yet on viewing tiles via wc icon, most everthingis oddly shaded out, in a dark brown color.

thx
