Landscape Far Shadows and Distance Field Shadows

Using 4.22 Preview 2. I have a tiled landscape. The landscape far shadows are only rendering when I select a landscape streaming proxy in the editor. If I select anything else, the far shadow disappears. If I play the level, the landscape still has no far shadow. Enabling far shadow in my directional light also makes the distance field soft shadows disappear.

If there is a new setting that I am missing, I would like to know about it. If not, I hope this gets fixed before release of 4.22.

*Edit: This appears to only be the case when tessellation is enabled. Also, any landscape components that are frustum culled no longer cast shadows.

the only solution is to make many modifications on the engine and never update it.
