Can you make Perforce ignore a subdirectory?
I recently switched to Perforce and I'm having a problem:
I have a huge directory with static assets ~100GB which I share between 2 UE projects using a Windows directory junction. There is a way to make perforce ignore any subdirectory in the workspace which makes perforce to refuse to add any file in that directory. However, the Unreal integration still attempts to add new or moved files in that directory to the version control. When I click on the "submit" button I get an error in UE because Perforce refuses to add this, yet I can not make that pesky file go away in UE's "check in" dialog. I have to uncheck it every time I check something in. It goes without saying that this is not feasible anymore once there are many such files.
So I'm either looking for a way to tall UE to ignore a subdirectory of "content" when it comes to version control or perhaps a way link a directory that is outside of the UE project tree into the content directory explicitly and maybe bypass the VCS that way, like Engine content or so.
Thanks for any idea
