I have recently started a new project in 4.21 that needs to use datasmith. There are no options in 4.21 for datasmith or to start a studio project. I have used datasmith in 4.19 and I am enrolled in the beta. I have followed other post and checked to see if the plug-in was installed, it is not. I have also looked to manually install but I no longer have that option. Under my studio beta options the only item I can select is exporter plugins. How do I regain the ability to use datasmith in 4.21?

I’ve got a few different notes for you, and I’m just going to list out the highlights so this doesn’t get too wordy or share personal information here.
- Your access to Datasmith was inherited through the organization you work for which is evaluating a custom license for the Unreal Engine
- That evaluation has expired, so your inherited permission to Datasmith has as well.
- You had also registered for the free beta of Unreal Studio, which grants Datasmith access as well, but your expired evaluation was overriding it. I have removed you from your organization’s subscription, so you should now fall back on your free beta access and see the option to install the plugin again.
- If you wish, you can likely extend your evaluation by emailing your account manager at Epic, who is CC’d on the onboarding email you received on July 2nd.
- You still have access to the UDN, our private support website. Please use the UDN for any questions you have to ensure visibility from Epic staff. This here is the community-supported public Answerhub site, which looks similar, but is not guaranteed to receive a response from Epic.

This isn’t helping. I have PLUGIN for datasmith installed, but there remains NO icon on top toolbar. Datamsith enabled, restarted but was never prompted to ‘convert’ current project. I was never in beta but ue4 docs never show it as mandatory that I can find nor is there anyway to download the studio not that I’m seeing anywhere,that I need to: just convert project, but as noted I don’t recall being told to and no icon shows.
How do I fix this ?

The Unreal Studio Beta has ended this week, which is why you are no longer able to sign up for it, and older instructions regarding how to access Datasmith will be obsolete now.
Which UE version are you using? That will determine how we can troubleshoot your issue.
