Config Files getting frequently destroyed

Hello,

since 3 days now my Unreal Engine 4 installations (2 seperate - 4.21.1 and 4.21.2) are freqently destroying config files.
After properly closing the endgine and later reopening it to work on the project again the confih files are broken.

Collision Channels are entirly removed or the default start maps and gamemodes are removed or even the setup for physical materials are removed.

There are currently no repositorys set up so there is no way a bad file could sneek up into it. However this is a massiv deal breaker for me at this point and is actually preventing me from finalizing a project as those files are constantly broken.

Any suggestions?
