Static Mesh Import Settings are ignored for certain meshes

This bug is happening for us in 4.20.3 with Megascans FBX imports. The same assets imported into 4.22 work as expected. This doesn’t happen with FBXs created in-house. This bug seems very similar to that reported Import Uniform Scale Bug - Pipeline & Plugins - Epic Developer Community Forums

Steps to Repro:

  • Import Megascans asset (this is happening with all Megascans meshes tested so far). Unfortunately I cannot provide these due to license restrictions.

  • Mesh appears flipped on it’s side in the Static Mesh Viewer.

  • Change the Import Scale, Rotation,

  • Asset>Reimport

  • Static Mesh Scale or Rotation doesn’t change.
