How do I get an object to move foward

this is ma tall creepy dude

I simply want him to move forward based on the angle he is facing

Thanks for your response  but I want him to move completely dependent on the angle he is facing, rotation X Y and Z.

Hi,
check this Video: Unreal Engine 4 - Basic Movement Input #1 - YouTube

There are a lot of great tutorials out there.

Hope that gets you started

You can use a sequencer and just specify exactly where you want the “tall creepy dude” to be if he isn’t going to be changing his movement path. Not sure exactly what you are trying to do here but this is an option. Check out video #8

I think this used to be a thing some very long time ago. You could simulate the level, pause it, right click an actor and save simulation changes which would propagate the state to the associated components. I want to say this is how it worked but I’ve just checked and it just throws a “No properties were copied” error.

Not sure if I am imagining things or mixing it up with some other software I use - because it’s a feature elsewhere, of course.

edit:
Here it is:

Taking into account this is flagged as regression I believe it used to be a feature. Long forgotten perhaps. Not sure if cable component was around back then, though.
