Oculus Rift DK2 support doesn´t work

Hi Guys,
i downloaded the unreal engine version 4.1.2 (and greated a completely new first person project) but am still not able to run a project on the oculus rift in “direct to hmd”-mode
in extended desktop i have no tracking but that seems to be a generell problem because none of the other demos i downloaded has tracking in extended mode…

(console commands like steroe on (off course in fullscreen after hitting alt+enter) have no effect)

direct mode would be great, maybe someone has already come up with a solution or know at least this problem

Are you trying to run it in the editor? It only works at the moment in standalone mode. Just press alt+enter when you are in standalone and it should full screen on the Rift and be working.

Set the DK to extended monitor mode then make sure that OVRservice and Wscript are not running in the background. After this there is no need to type in anything, just launch the game in “stand alone” (Play arrow>Standalone game) mode and press alt+enter to feed to the headset!, If you can, make sure to update the engine to 4.4 !

I hope this helps you !

Hi ,
i tried your advice but that´s what i got out of it ^^"

If it’s the same error I was having at this point the head tracking doesn’t work right ? Have you checked that OVRservice_64.exe and Wscript.exe are not running in the background ?

yes, the tracking doesn´t work, but i made sure that the ovrservice_64 and wscript.exe were not running in the background

ok that’s good! Make sure you’ve got the latest Oculus rift sdk : ovr_sdk_win_0.4.1.zip and then reboot your machine. Do the steps above and it should work like a charm ! Let me know how it goes !
