Will real-time ray tracing be supported on Linux?

I’m excited to see that real-time ray tracing for lighting/shadows/ambient occlusion is coming to the Unreal Engine!

However, as of now (UE 4.22 Previews), it only runs on DirectX 12 and requires Windows 10.
It might still be too early for me to expect more, but I’m just curious if expanding to other platforms and rendering engines is planned in the future (I didn’t see any mentions of that anywhere).

Or will it only be expanded once the API is finished, and desktop Vulkan support is there?

UE4 based applications running as a service in linux containers are gaining traction , hardware accelerated ray tracing support on vulkan is a key feature to maintain the support on multiple platforms.

Desktop Vulkan is there for years, seems like Epic just doesn’t care
