Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Advanced AI Interaction with objects?

Hello! I've looked everywhere for this answer but can't seem to find it.

What I want to do:

  • NPC wanders randomly around area

  • Player clicks and drags an object and drops it into the world

  • NPC notices that the player has placed a new item, NPC walks over to it, NPC emotes

  • NPC goes back to wandering around

Intention: I'm going to have a side bar with objects that the player can place to decorate an area. A pet is going to be in the play area, and I want the pet to notice when the player adds something new, then walk over to check it out. The pet would react positively or negatively with an emote like dancing, cheering, booing, etc.

After, the pet should lose interest and go back to wandering around. Is this possible, or easy to do?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my issue! Have a great day!

Yes its possible with blueprint only and its easy. But still need to learn behavior trees for AI and I would suggest to learn Blueprint interfaces for letting your AI noticing that something was dropped. Its even possible without behavior trees but I would suggest to learn BT because later on your AI will need other features.
