Skin shader, scattering effect?

He folks, I’m curious if the skin shader will get some kind of scattering effect like you see in this siggraph slide from The Order, or will it be up to us to build it?

We experimented a bit with preintegrated skin shading (it is an option for a material’s lighting model) but we weren’t completely happy with the results. We’ll likely pursue a different approach such as a screen space approximation.

Yeah, I tried the preintergrated skin and noticed the “concrete” look it has. It is therefore good to know that you’re working on a different approach!
