Crash after updating to 4.4.0

Branch: Binary

Build version: 4.4.0

Detailed description of the issue: Over the weekend I had a button for “Update” under 4.4.0 on the Launcher. I went ahead and did the update, everything seemed fine. However, when I open any of my previously created projects, I receive the following:

SIGSEGV: invalid attempt to access memory at address 0x3

EngineCrashHandler(FGenericCrashContext const&) Address = 0x724568f (filename not found) [in UE4Editor] PlatformCrashHandler(int, __siginfo*, void*) Address = 0x735366f (filename not found) [in UE4Editor-Core.dylib] _sigtramp() Address = 0x8666b5aa (filename not found) [in libsystem_platform.dylib]

I’ve turned off/on the machine and still the same. When I create a new project, it’s fine, but receive the error above on all existing projects, including my backups (obviously a huge problem).

I’ve looked in the community and there are some references to USB patches for older UE4 versions, but none of those apply to me (besides the links to the patches are dead). I have verified the version as well.

Please advise as I cannot work on any of my projects.

Repro Steps

Action 1: Open Launcher
Action 2: Open Project
Action 3: Crash

System Specs: MBPro, 16 gigs, SSD, i7, Intel Iris Pro

Thanks

I have attached the crash logs here: link text

Hey ,

The “Update” was a mistake on our part. You should have an option to “Update” again, this time to the correct version. If that was causing your error, updating the engine will fix the problem. For context on the weekend update and today’s, please read this forum thread.

Regards,

Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan. I did the update and my projects is back and fully functional. I really appreciate the support here. Needless to say, I was stressed.

Glad I could help.
