Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Weird Texture on Model

I'm working on a game and just imported some models to it, but for some reason a weird texture appears on them but then when I shine my in game flashlight on them the texture goes to what it should look like. Not only is this happening to that model but it is also happening to unreal engine's mannequin model. alt text

the texture is of a sky that I had previously had on, I changed it a while ago

thats what it looks like when the flashlight is on. If it matters my game also has a lot of fog.

To me that looks like the ground material and maybe the dog material is reflecting it where in the bright light it doesn’t

I'm still kind of new to ue4, so sorry in advance, but how should I go about fixing that?

You would need to edit the material to add roughness and maybe reduce metallic and specular I would maybe first confirm that’s the issue. Try changing the ground to a solid texture and if it goes away then that would confirm it.

That must not be the problem, because even when i change the ground nothing happens. I'm still pretty sure that the texture appearing is an old sky texture

Not sure, maybe it’s reflecting the sky. Have you tried changing the dogs material to other materials? If so what was the result.
