Searching the Vault is a pain when having huge list of assets!

When having too many assets from the unreal market in the vault, it becomes difficult to find an asset or even update it as updating each asset requires the user to press the relevant update button, asset names might not reflect the asset content nor its type, isn’t it easier to search for an asset by its type or category?

I agree, at bare minimum give us a filter and sort

not really a question. there is a search bar or you could buy less stuff i suppose. i mean i do agree that better search features would be nice. that said this isnt really the place for discussions like this, this topic imo is more a forum discussion than a question answer situation.

so as forum-man says, “TO THE FORUM”…

My request is a valid one and would improve the Unreal Engine developer user experience within the epic game launcher. I tried submitting my suggestion through epic support and I did get a reply that redirected me to post my request on the forum.
My suggestion is simply adding a categorized search to the vault section like the one in the market place but also adding to it a category called"requires update".
I’m asking for this because I currently have more than 300 assets in my vault and the vault is growing rapidly because I’m buying more and more assets each day.
On the other hand your sentence “you could buy less stuff I suppose” is unprofessional!

this isnt the forum. the forums are located here.

My request is a valid one

sure it very well may be and i agreed that it would be nice to see some form of advanced search.

your sentence “you could buy less stuff I suppose” is unprofessional

two things on this one:

first that was a joke, its one of those really obvious points that everyone can understand doesnt really solve the issue, so its so unimportant no one bothers to mention it. in any case dont read to much into it just read its a joke. just keeping things light hearted

second point here, this is a community site and in my experience most people here are not professionals myself included.

you may not be aware but a few month ago Epic sent out a survey asking what people would like to see changed with the launcher and marketplace so im sure they know some changes are needed. creating a lively discussion could very well get you the features your looking for and im all for that. more features and options are usually a good thing. i can also understand that not being able to find something can be frustrating and not having to remember the name of a asset would be nice. it wont be such a simple thing to implement however unless you use the categories from the store which are not perfect either. the main thing this is the point i was getting across earlier is that this is not the forum and is not the place for a ongoing discussion. the answerhub is for specific targeted issues in a question answer format. your “question” is more of a statement and a point for discussion which would be the realm of the forum.

Appreciate the guidance and thanks for the link, I’ll submit suggestions there as I was misguided to submit them here, sorry for my rudeness but trying to get heard while using the wrong channels is frustrating and annoying.

Made a simple app to allow sorting of your vault and notifications of which products need updating. Hopefully this is just a temporary solution until Epic adds features like these. My main motivation was for the update notifications. When you get an update notification in the Launcher you have to manually scroll looking for an Update button. With my app you can sort by updates available. You can also add tags and descriptions to each product.
