White wall covered in black stains (HELP!)

Hi!

I’m guessing it’s a problem with the lightmap…

I think you should definitely check this video: Lightmap Creation for Unreal Engine 4 - YouTube It has a lot of subtle tricks for nice and smooth baking.

I’m guessing that the lightmap for this object has a cut where you see that black line in the middle… So if there was no cut but only at the hard edges, there wouldn’t be that dirty line in the middle!

All of the walls and floors are the same piece of architecture with the same texture so I don’t understand why these black splotches are covering them. There is absolutely no black in the texture as it is a pure white color. The floor even has the same problem where it is one solid piece but is covered in brighter colored sections for some reason. I need to fix this as quickly as possible as I have to package up the product to ship it off to a competition .Also, the stains and discolorations disappear whenever I move the object slightly in any direction.

Well what would you propose I do to fix this problem with the light map?

I put the wall together by stacking walls on each other and then combining it through merge actors. Is there a better way to do this to get rid of the lines without using Maya? I don’t have very much experience in it.
