How to achieve an Animal Crossing type art style with UE4?

Hi All,

I’m wondering if anyone has insight on how to achieve an art style similar to the Animal Crossing series. Specifically I’m wondering how Animal Crossing seems to have one giant texture for its landscape/ground texture, and if that is the case, how can I do that in UE4? Also AC has, I believe, moving textures for character faces, I would also like to know how that’s possible too.

So if you have any insight on Animal Crossing methods and/or how those could be translated into UE4 I would really appreciate any info.

I tried to look for articles explaining how AC does its ground stuff but couldn’t find anything. If you know of an article that has technical details about AC I would appreciate it if you posted that here too.
