Android build crashes on launch (Failed to load Shared Shader Library)

Hi there,

I’m struggling to successfully package and launch my game on Android. I’ve corrected other warnings and errors but I keep running into the following

My device is a Samsung Galaxy S10 that is currently up to date and plugged in to front panel USB (already tried USB on motherboard no difference). I’ve deleted than recompiled the project, shaders, cooked files, I’ve disabled shared shader code. I can run a packaged Windows build in Vulkan and the game will run as expected. Is this a known issue at this time?

Thank you Jeff, I’ve submitted two bug reports.

So no more solutions comming to answer hub?

This site was for fixing problems, it was for us the developers to find answers to common problems. Reporting bugs helps Epic. But we are left with no searchable information to fix the problems.

It has to be understood that the bugs 1 person finds, is a bug for everyone that has the same version of the engine.

Except now. Your going to end up with hundreds of the same bug getting reported, and WE are left with nothing.

Hey Dan,

Epic replied to me about the bug and we had a dialog about potential solutions and the exact nature of the issue. I was told to disable Vulkan on Android and that solution has worked for me at this time. Noted, I was not planning on complete development for mobile, I just wanted to test it out. So if you do plan on using Vulkan, you can either wait for an update to fix the issue or go to a previous version.

We are getting about 60 of these. After upgrading to 4.22.2.

I just cant find any information on the error. And these dont look like our shaders.

it’s 2022 and vulkan is something actively used, I still get this issue today:

Display: Failed to open default shader pipeline cache for QuestTemplate using shader platform 21.

and I can’t seem to find any information online. the bug report doesn’t solve all issues, we need to talk to each other.
