'Cast Modulated Shadows' not working in Unreal 4.22

Hi all,

As the title says, I wish to have modulated shadows on a directional light (Specifically for AR, to cast shadows onto an emissive object for Actors shadows to be cast onto AR camera environment).

I cannot get it to work on launched builds on devices. On regular materials it seems to render a normal shadow, and on emissive materials there is no shadow at all.
I’ve read it mentioned in a few places that modulated shadows are no longer working from 4.19, but I cannot find any information to confirm this, and if so, why this is.

If anyone has any information as to how to get it working, or any alternative methods of creating a shadow catcher, I would be grateful.

Can confirm this is still a problem in 4.25 - There’s little to information, forum posts, ask etc at all on modulated shadows apart from the official documentation which isn’t really helpful either. Did you manage to solve it?

I did not! I think in the end I probably just used blob shadow decals, or nothing at all
