Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Blender Animations have no Root Motion

I've been at this for a few hours now, and I'm really stuck. I've already found various posts and tutorials but no matter what I try, I cannot get my Blender animations to have Root Motion. When I tick EnableRootMotion in Unreal, nothing changes and the character stays in the same spot.

Things I've tried: - Edit Blender python script to prevent it from adding an "extra" root bone - Renaming skeleton to "Armature" - Applying key frames in Blender to the entire Armature when is Object mode instead of Pose mode - Also messed around with some Blender Export and Unreal Import settings

I understand there are more steps to get the Unreal character to move with Root Motion, but my animation assets don't seem to have the Root Motion to begin with.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Image 1 is what I'm trying to achieve with my own Blender character. Image 2 is my imported skeleton.
