Can a large texture fit a landscape mesh perfectly?

Im trying to apply a large texture to the whole of my landscape however when tiling the texture up in size it does not seem to fit the landscape that was generated from the landscape editor, it almost seems like the UVs of the landscape are not correct. Im using a texturecord to scale the texture up and just using it on a landscape generated from the editor.
Is there another way that I could apply this large texture another way like some kind of world space texture. The only thing is that the texture needs to fit the landscape tile perfectly.
