Ray Tracing is not working with Razer Core & RTX Card

Hi I am running UE4 4.22.3 on a Razer Blade (late 2016) with a Razer Core X running an Nvidia RTX 2080Ti.

I can’t seem to get this system to run ray tracing features.

I have the same UE4 doc running on my other rig - also using a RTX 2080Ti - and it’s working well, so I now the document settings are correct.

Would really appreciate any pointers on this!

Thanks

James

To make DXR work you need to do following things:

  • Get Windows October 2018 update which actually introduce DXR
  • Update drivers
  • Make sure sure that UE4 runs on DX12 RHI (either in project settings set default RHI or start UE4 with -DX12 option)

Thanks for your answer.

As far as I can tell, I had previously done all of these steps. I have the same set up on my other systems - the only difference here is I’m using a laptop (with an internal GTX1060) with an external GPU (the RTX2080Ti) connected. I have tried disabling the GTX1060 in order to ensure that the RTX card is taking precedence.

Any other ideas?

J

Hi this is still a problem. Help anyone!

Same problem, I have a razer laptop with a 2080 card in it and can’t get ray tracing working. I know the steps because I have it working on a desktop.

Bumping this again - because this is not yet resolved…
